Method of Admission in KV Schools for Fresh Candidates of Class-1

Allocation of Seats for all group categories of RTE, SC, ST, DA, SGC and 5 Priority Group Categories for Class – 1 for the Academic Year 2019-20.

Example: If 4 Sections to be filled in a KV…
Available Seats: 4 x 40 = 160

Reservation for SC & ST

Out of the available seats of fresh admission 15% will be reserved for SC and 7.5% will be reserved for ST.
Reservation for SC and ST
SC: (15% of 160) = 24
ST: (7.5% of 160) = 12

Reservation for Differently abled candidates

3% of Horizontal Reservation to Differently abled candidates
SC: 3% of (15% of 160) = 01
ST: 3% of (7.5% of 160) = Nil
GEN: 3% of (77.5% of 160) = 04

Reservation under RTE

Out of the available seats of fresh admission 25% will be reserved under RTE Provision.
Under RTE (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS/BPL and DA) (25% of 160) = 40
The short fall in the number of seats reserved for SC and ST, will be worked out after considering number of SC/ST children admitted under RTE quota.
Shortfall SC = (24 – Selected SC applicants under RTE) = say A
Shortfall ST = (24 – Selected ST applicants under RTE) = say B
Shortfall DA = (1 (SC) – Under RTE and 4 (Gen) – Under RTE) = say C

Reservation for Sponsoring Agencies

Out of the available seats of fresh admission 5 Seats per Section will be reserved for Sponsoring Agencies
Sponsoring Agency: 5 Seats per section = 5 x 4 = 20
The left out registered candidates from SC and ST category will be considered as per order of Priority categories for admission.
General Candidates selected priority category-wise 160 – (40 + A + B + C + 20)

Special category for Single Girl Child

Single Girl Child: 2 seats per section = 2 x 4 = 8
will be selected priority-wise and admitted over and above the class strength
(Twin/ Triplet girls will be treated as one).
