Medical Facilities to Non-Pensioners

The government is aware of the demand for medical facilities to non-pensioners such as Emergency Commissioned Officers and Short Service Commissioned.

A proposal to make Short Service Commission more attractive has been initiated in which the provision for grant of ECHS facilities to Short Service Commissioned Officers has been included. The above proposal is still under examination.

This information was given by Defence Minister of State for Defence Shri MM Pallam Raju in a written reply to Shrimati Paramjit Kaur Gulshan in Lok Sabha today.

I am 70 years old Ex-Capt EC officer but till a month ago NO MEDICAL facilites were available. Now I can avail medical facility from a MH. For this all EC/SSC officers need a Medical Facility Entitlement Card which one has to obtain from the Adj. General's Branch. Let us hope soon ECHS is given to all EC/SSC officers. After all they to are Ex-Govt Employess san the pension.

ECOS/SSCOS have always been treated as untouchables.medical facilities which have to be extended on payment, intriguingly and shockilgly have been denied.no wonder the alarming shortage of officers persists. i am already 66. i appeal to the chief to make sure that no cut off date is suggested by the framers inorder all past and present are covered.

I am 66 years of age and was released
from Army in 1978 after 10+ years of service without any pension/ medical benefits. Medical even otherwise is guaranteed to the citizens of India, by our constitution. I, Therefore appeal to all those ,who can help ECO's & SSCo's get covered by ECHS.
