OFFICE MEMORANDUM


Subject:     Skill Test for recruitment to the post of LDCs and Stenographers.


A reference is invited to this Department OM of even no. dated July 8, 2008 prescribing the skill test norms on manual typewriters and computers for recruitment to the posts of LDCs and Stenographers. The matter has been reviewed in consultation with the Staff Selection Commission and it has been decided that from the Financial Year 2010-11 onwards, the skill tests for recruitment to the posts of LDC and Stenographers shall be conducted only on computers. The norms of the same are prescribed below.


POST SKILL TEST NORMS ON COMPUTER
Lower Division Clerk English Typing at 35 wpm
Hindi Typing at 30 wpm
Time allowed 10 mnts.
(35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to 10500 KDPH 1 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word)
Stenographer Gr D Dictation : 10 mts @ 80 w.p.m.
Transn: 50 mts (Eng.)
65 mts (Hindi)
Stenographer Gr.C Dictation : 10 mts @ 100 w.p.m.
Transn: 40 mts (Eng.)
55 mts (Hindi)


2. All Ministries and Departments are requested to kindly amend the Recruitment Rules for the posts of LDC and Stenographers accordingly. Formal amendment to the Model RRs for these posts will be notified separately.

3. Ministry of Home Affairs etc. are requested to bring the contents of this OM to the notice of their attached subordinate offices also.

Mubarakko to the Govt of India(GOI). GOI pat nay, karlia! Increase the skill test, computer typing speed for LDC up to 40 wpm, but never increase the grade pay of LDCs. Let them suffer since they 3rd class Indian. Is not it?

I am working with Ministry of Defence as LDC. Is there any scope of getting my job transferred to some other Department like Customs, Income Tax etc.

yes, it is possible but only if you have strong resion for that.
i.e if you are from kerala and working as steno Delhi. if there is no any branch of that department in karala and if your wife goverment employee at kerala then you may apply transfer to other department.

I was appointed as LDC in 1987 on compassionate ground and I have to pass type test as per appointment order but due to some circumstances I had passed my type test in 2002 before the date of my 45 years age(Exemption). I was promoted to UDC w.e.f.2002 and my junior in 1998.Department give me double penalty for single fault of non passing of type test with in two years i.e 1. loss of monetary benefits of my past service & 2. loss of seniority in UDC, now my junior is senior. Whether it is under rules.

Yeah, Mr. Ram job of LDC in Ministry of Defence is very much fine and is similar to other ministries.

Revised Pay Scale from 1.7.2017 for Karnataka Govt Employees Check Your Revised Pension / Family Pension as on 1.7.2017 REVISED SCALES OF PAY:  The existing scales of pay are revised as specified below:-  DATE OF EFFECT: The revised scales of pay shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 1st July 2017.
