Press release on Digital India Internship Scheme – 2019 Batch

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) today launched the second edition of the Digital India Internship Scheme (2019 Batch) (http://www.meity.gov.in/schemes). The Scheme for this year offers 50 slots. A token remuneration of Rs. 10,000/- per month shall also be offered to interns.

The portal will facilitate students to apply online for internship. The Internship Scheme intends to provide an opportunity for a student to secure first hand and practical work experience under the guidance of a qualified and experienced supervisor/mentor. The scheme would benefit the student community at large and enrich the management/implementation of the Ministry’s various schemes/ programmes.

Students pursuing B.E/B.Tech, M.E/M.Tech, MCA, DoEACC ‘B’ level with at least 60% marks in the last held degree or certificate examination are eligible to apply under the scheme. For further details scheme document available on the portal may be referred to.


The Internship would be for a two-month duration, starting from 31st May 2019. The proposed areas of Internship are Cloud Computing, Cyber Law/ IT Act, Digital Forensics, Digital Literacy, Digital Payments, Electronic Equipment Function Testing, Electronic Equipment Safety Testing, EMI/EMC Testing, Geographic Information System (GIS), Hardware Industry, Malware Analysis, Mobile Governance, National Knowledge Network & E-Infrastructure, Quantum Communication, R&D in Electronics, R&D in Information Technology, Skill Development (Upskilling / Re-skilling), Social Media Analysis, Software Industry Promotion, Wi-Fi, 5G
